This section is under construction and does not yet include a complete portfolio of all our work. Some of the work we do for clients is confidential, and so this portfolio contains only some of the work we have done.

Lanthaps ProdTimer

Lanthaps ProdTimer is a desktop timer application for Windows and Linux which reminds users when to take breaks, and when to get back to work. It features adjustable times, the ability to pause the program, and support for occassional longer breaks, task bar icons to show the program status, and sounds to provide an audible cue.

Lanthaps ProdTimer was originally designed as a proprietary system which users paid to download, but due to changing strategic priorities at Lanthaps, has subsequently been released to the community under an Open Source license.

Technical details: Lanthaps ProdTimer is primarily written in Haskell. The Linux installer is primarily written in C.

Lanthaps website and web chat

Lanthaps Website Chat

Our website was developed internally by Lanthaps Ltd. The website includes an internally developed browser based web chat - when a Lanthaps consultant is available to chat to website visitors, the website allows them to chat in real time without leaving the browser window they are in. They can continue to surf to other pages and even have multiple pages open and still keep history and have all messages appear in all open windows.

Technical details: Most of the Lanthaps.com website is generated statically using Hakyll. The web chat is written in CoffeeScript and is compiled and typechecked using the Google Closure Compiler. Behind the scenes, the web chat connects using BOSH to an ejabberd XMPP server running a custom extension (written in Erlang) developed at Lanthaps to allow for guest chat. The extension is Free/Open Source and available here.

The Lanthaps Cookie Audit Tool is an effort to make tools to test websites for certain types of common security flaws available as a public web-based service. By making these tools readily available for ordinary website developers to use, Lanthaps is helping to boost security on the Internet for all users.

Blackjack Game and Card Counting Trainer

We developed a Javascript based Blackjack Game and Blackjack Card Counting Trainer application for a client. The games are online at a website operated by the client.

Technical details: These games were developed in Javascript using Raphael and jQuery.
